Sacheon has cultivated professional aviation human resources through the Korea Aerospace Industries, as well as the Korea Aviation Polytechnic College, which is an institution for specialized education in aviation. Also with the Sacheon Airport and the Third Aviation Training Corps located here, it is the sole high-tech aerospace industry mecca in the country.
Furthermore, in the nearby Jinju City, there are the Gyeong Sang National University College of Aerospace & Mechanical Engineering, Research Center for Aircraft Parts Technology, Air Force Education and Training Command, and the ROK Air Force Technical High School, as well as the Kyeongnam Aviation High School located in Gosung.
